Dr. Michael Gardner, Dentist in Willmar, MNDr. Michael Gardner has a passion for dentistry. He graduated in 1980 from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and opened Michael R Gardner DDS General  Dentistry in the fall of 1980.

The cornerstones of his practice philosophy include integrity, treating patients as if they were family members, a lifelong belief in and dedication to continuing education, and enjoying working with a top-notch and fun staff.

Dr. Gardner and his staff believe in cutting-edge technology and techniques backed by evidence-based care and best practice concepts. They also are very particular and precise about dentistry. Experience, and a concern for doing things “right” are cornerstones of great care for Dr. Gardner and his staff.

Dr. Gardner’s parents instilled in him a volunteer spirit early in life, and he enjoys being active in the community. Dr. Gardner currently volunteers as a committee member of The Trailblazer District of The Boy Scouts of America and assists local Troop 227.

He also enjoys working with the Boy Scouts as a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow and has received several national awards from the Boy Scouts of America.

He is an adjunct faculty member of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and is volunteer faculty at the Rice Regional Dental Clinic which he helped establish. Dr Gardner is a 35 year Committee member and past president of Ducks Unlimited.

He is active in Bethel Lutheran Church, He has been in Rotary for 35 years and served as president, served as a past president and member of The Willmar Jaycees and is a past Board member for The United Way, Chamber of Commerce, The Barn Theater Board, Willmar Fests, and a past Board member of the Willmar Community Health Board, Willmar Medical Services, and as a Board member at Rice Hospital as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the Rice Memorial Hospital Board of Directors.

Dr. Gardner also enjoys working with Willmar Hockey (as the timekeeper for many teams).

In his spare time Dr. Gardner enjoys biking, campfires, fishing, golfing, pheasant hunting, bow hunting, photography, reading and writing. His favorite times are spent with his wife, Sandy, and their three children and four grandchildren.
